The wines of La Tunella come from the eastern hills of Friuli and are considered among the best of the region. A mixture of sandstone and marl soils plus a unique microclimate make white grape growing ideal here - Vineyards are protected from the northerly cold winds by the foothills of the Alps and gently warmed by Adriatic breezes from the south. La Tunella employs local varieties in crafting this beautiful and aromatic blend called Biancosesto. The 2015 is equal parts Friulano and Ribolla Giala, hand harvested and fermented with native yeasts, then aged on the lees for 4 months before bottling. White flowers, fresh blossoms and orchard fruits beam from the glass, while refreshing acidity makes it the perfect partner to baked fish and seafood.
