Greg Harrington crafts this Aglianico in a small urban winery in San Francisco. The grapes are sourced from a volcanic gravel-soil vineyard alongside Cache Creek as it empties into the Central Valley near the town of Esparto. The vineyard is owned by Novavine, a nursery with much experience with the grapevines of Italy. Ruby-red color, with flavors and aromas of fresh, currants, blackberries, red licorice, plums, touch of menthol, bitter chocolate, coffee, tobacco, and leather. This wine is earthy, supple yet intense with firm tannins and a long finish.
