Tour de Gilet is located 16 km north of the city of Bordeaux in the Médoc region. The Chateau was erected on the foundation of an ancient abbey from the 12th century. Local streams, called Jalles, cross the vineyard to drain the soil and to improve the quality. 80% Petit Verdot - a Bordeaux blending grape that rarely dominates - plus 20% Cabernet Sauvignon are fermented in tank with controlled temperature, then aged in second use oak for 18 months. Typical of Petit Verdot as a varietal wine, this 2012 Bordeaux Superieur offers vibrant floral aromas, deep color, and dark berry fruit, with tobacco and rich earth perfect for pairing with beef tenderloin and roasted Spring vegetables.
