Todd Hamina and his wife Caroline Biggio make terrior driven wines that are decidedly restrained in style. These are not the massive, extractedwines that typify modern winemaking; and we find this quite refreshing. Biggio Hamina sources fruit from several highly-acclaimed, sustainably- focused vineyards in Willamette Valley and production levels for eachwine are between 50 and 300 cases per vintage. “BiHa” is their flagship bottling that offers heady aromas of ripe red berries, dried flowers, and asmoky mineral note. The 2016 delivers alluringly raspberry and colaflavors with a peppery lift that will sing with earthy mushroom dishes.
